I have changed my computer to VISTA(2).

This IBM machine is a server. It supplies dual cpu, supports the highest cpu is 333 MHz Pentium Ⅱ(I think it only supports 5x66 MHz), supports 3 or 4 PCI slots and 2 or 1 ISA slot, 1 (1x or 2x)speed AGP slot,SCSI controller(Adaptec 7895p) supplies dual 50 and 68 sockets, 1 floppy disk controller, 2 DMA hard disk controllers, 4 Ram slots single supports up to 256M, including perfect network support(Intel 82557 10/100M network adapter) and sound card(Crystal cs4236B) plus loud speaker system. In windows 98, windows2000, you could just plug the hard disk and Ram, one display card, then you can finish the main system. After adding the keyboard, mouse, moniter and power supply, you could have a rather perfect machine to surf the net and watch the media by this system smoothly.

I have 2 of this machine. I bought them in a second hand shop in 2002, at that time, because they were made by big company and they were supporting dual microprocessors server! After I bought them that time, I can still find the support from the IBM net( now you could find them on the net:http://www-947.ibm.com/systems/support/supportsite.wss/selectproduct?familyind=5050007&typeind=5189149&modelind=5054659&osind=5350472&brandind=5000004&oldbrand=5000004&oldfamily=5050007&oldtype=5189149&taskind=2&matrix=Y&psid=sp&continue.x=9&continue.y=10)

I installed every 2 cpus on them and set to support 333 MHz, one was installed 2x350 MHz Pentium Ⅱ,they were recognized 2x333 MHz(I think they were not locked the clock, but it has been changed from 3.5x100 MHz to 5x66 MHz). The other one was installed 2x350 MHz Pentium Ⅱ too, but they were recognized 2x233 MHz(I think they were locked the clock, so it has been changed from 3.5x100 MHz to 3.5x66 MHz). I guess.

The ram slots only suppot the dual side band ram, so if you use the one side band 256M ram it could not be used. I bought 4 dual side band 256 ram at that time and plug all in the fastest one 333. The other only pluged some rest old ram in its 4 ram slots.

I bought one SCSI card Apaptec 19160(up to 160M speed) and one Seagate ST318406LW hard disk(up to 160M speed, 4M cache).

And I bought one Logitec dvd reader and cd writer rom.

Now this time, in order to have the best enviroment to install VISTA, I decided to install all the best hardware for it.

Inside:Dual 350 MHz(known as 2x333 MHz) Pentium Ⅱ, 4x256M ram, SCSI card Apaptec 19160 and one Seagate 18G(after formatted is 17.1G)(10,000 rpm) hard disk, Nec D720101 usb 2.0 PCI card(3 ports, 2 outside and 1 inside), Logitec dvd reader and cd writer rom, Stb RIVA 128 AGP(Nvidia riva128 4M)display card, monitor is Mitsubishi Diamondtron Rd21gx(21 inchs CRT). All were bought in 2002 except usb 2.0 PCI card, that was my brother to me last year.

But it was not so smooth, for the requirement is under the order of Microsoft-cpu above 800 MHz, 20G hardisk and 15G free space on disk.
